In December, an unexpected email appeared in Principal Susan Chapla's inbox. After three straight years of high growth, Van Arsdale was awarded a
Colorado Governor's Distinguished Improvement Award for 2018.
The
Governor's Distinguished Improvement Awards are given to schools that demonstrate exceptional student growth. On the school performance framework that is used by the state to evaluate schools, these schools
exceed expectations on the indicator related to longitudinal academic growth and
meet or exceed expectations on the indicator related to academic growth gaps.
Students work hard. Teachers work hard. And, parents work hard. This is truly an honor for everyone! It's a celebration of everything we are committed to in the Van Arsdale community. YAY for all of us!
